Chekesha Van Putten is originally from Los Angeles California, where she  undoubtedly developed her love to be in front of an audience. As an award winning spokesmodel, actress, and dancer, Chekesha has made her mark in multiple industries.

Chekesha began her career in front of the camera as a professional dancer, appearing in commercials and music videos. Studying under the tutelage of her mentor Debbie Allen, she quickly gained recognition in the entertainment industry and began booking roles in hit TV shows and films including The Academy Awards, Melrose Place, Third Rock From the Sun, and commercial campaigns for Pepsi, Ross and Taco Bell. She was also a dancer and choreographer for Los Angeles Lakers Girls for 2 years.

Chekesha earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications (Radio, TV and Film) from Howard University with honors and did postgraduate studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, where she honed her craft as an actress. She has continued to add many credits to her professional resume most notably Austin Powers, Hoodlum, Mad TV, Last Vegas, and American Beauty, where she earned a Screen Actors Guild Award, for best ensemble cast.

Under the banner of her own enterprise “The American Spokesmodel” Chekesha consolidated her skills as an actress, brand spokesperson, model and host into one. She has had the privilege of representing and speaking on behalf of some of the top companies in the world including LG Electronics, Nike, Audi, Gatorade, Dolby Electronics, Bally Technologies and Tom Ford to name a few. Chekesha’s comfort with all audiences, ability to communicate effectively and her multi-ethnic background has allowed her to cultivate every demographic.

Chekesha is an acting coach at the International Academy of Film and Television in Las Vegas, NV where she mentors young adults. Her passion and dedication to the performing arts has inspired her to give back to the next generation and help aspiring artists to reclaim their passion and follow their dreams!
